Jonathan Colafrancesco is an Italian dancer, choreographer, and teacher based in New York.
He has danced in productions by international choreographers such as Roberta Ferrara, Rena Butler, Roya Carrera, Caleb Teicher, Assaf Salhov, Igal Perry, Tsai-Hsi Hung, Yoshito Sakuraba, Vive Khamsingsavath, Michelle Thompson Ulerich, Eamon Foley, and Norbert De La Cruz III.
Jonathan is currently a dancer for McKoy Dance Project, LaneCoArts, and Pony Box Dance Theatre. Throughout his career, he has also danced in other professional companies such as Nimbus Dance Works, Ballet Nepantla, White Wave, Spark Movement Collective, Project Tag, and Tabula Rasa Dance Theatre.
He was recently a swing performer in the immersive off-Broadway production of Life and Trust, performing six different roles choreographed by Jeff and Rick Kuperman “Kuperman Brothers.” He was also featured in the Doppelganger production at the Park Avenue Armory, performing alongside the tenor Jonas Kaufmann.
Jonathan graduated from the Vivo Center in Rome in 2018. He moved to Melbourne in 2019 to study with companies such as Chunky Move and Lucy Guerin Inc. After being awarded a full scholarship for the certificate program at Peridance Center in NYC, Jonathan graduated with excellence of honors in 2021.
His choreography has been presented at the KNJ Theater, Kodafe 2021, Mark De Garmo Festival, 7MPR, Current Showcase Take.7, Arts On Site, Spark Theatre Festival, and The Mark O’Donnell Theater. Jonathan was commissioned to choreograph for Terre Dance Collective’s dancers in 2022 and for Spark Movement Collective’s dancers in 2023.
